A delightful dessert featuring sweet apples wrapped in fluffy pastry and drizzled with gooey caramel.

- 2 medium apples, peeled and diced
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough or 1 sheet puff pastry
- 8 soft caramel candies
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream
- 1 pinch sea salt
Instructions
- Melt unsalted butter in a skillet over medium heat and add diced apples. Stir for about 3 minutes until softened.
- Add brown sugar, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Cook for an additional 4-5 minutes, stirring frequently.
- Sprinkle flour over the mixture and cook until thickened and glossy. Remove from heat and mix in vanilla. Let cool slightly.
- Prepare dough: Flatten biscuit pieces or puff pastry into 4-inch circles/squares.
- Place 1 tablespoon of apple filling and a caramel candy in the center of each dough piece. Fold and seal the edges.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Brush bombs with melted butter and bake for 14-18 minutes until golden.
- For air frying, preheat to 350°F (175°C) and air fry for 7-9 minutes, flipping halfway.
- Mix granulated sugar and cinnamon. Brush warm bombs with melted butter and roll in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
- Warm caramel sauce and heavy cream in a saucepan, then drizzle over the bombs before serving.
