Description

A stunning dessert that combines creamy cheesecake with the delightful layers of baklava, making it perfect for gatherings or a special treat.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups pistachio shortbread cookies, crushed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 16 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (pistachios, walnuts, or almonds)
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 cup phyllo dough, layered

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine crushed pistachio cookies and melted butter, then press into the bottom of a springform pan for the crust.
  3. Beat cream cheese until smooth, then gradually add sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until fluffy.
  4. Add eggs one at a time, mixing until just combined.
  5. Pour cheesecake filling over the crust and smooth the top.
  6. Bake for 45-50 minutes until the center is set and edges are golden.
  7. While baking, layer phyllo dough with butter and nuts in a separate dish, drizzle with honey, and bake until golden.
  8. Layer baklava over cooled cheesecake and refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving.
