Description

A delightful twist on traditional monkey bread, this Banana Monkey Bread is filled with the sweet flavors of ripe bananas and cinnamon sugar, perfect for breakfast or dessert.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 ripe bananas
  • 3 cups bread flour
  • 2 teaspoons instant yeast
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • ½ cup sugar

Instructions

  1. Warm the milk to 110°F.
  2. Mash 3 bananas and combine with milk and yeast; let sit for 10 minutes.
  3. Dice remaining bananas.
  4. Roll the dough into small balls.
  5. Dip each ball in melted butter and cinnamon sugar.
  6. Layer the dough balls and diced bananas in a Bundt pan.
  7. Combine butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon for caramel coating.
  8. Layer coated dough balls and pour the caramel over them.
  9. Let the dough rise until doubled in size.
  10. Bake as instructed until golden and soft.
  11. Store leftovers at room temperature for up to 2 days.
