- 0.5 teaspoon cinnamon extract (optional)
- 6 candy apple sticks
Instructions
- In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine the granulated sugar, light corn syrup, and water. Place over medium heat and stir gently until dissolved.
- Increase heat to medium-high and bring to a boil without stirring until it reaches 300°F (hard-crack stage).
- Remove from heat and stir in black gel food coloring, purple gel food coloring, vanilla extract, and optional cinnamon extract.
- Tilt the saucepan and dip the apples in the hot candy mixture, swirling to coat.
- Transfer dipped apples onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and cool until the candy coating is firm.
