- 2 cups frozen hash browns, thawed
- 1 pound maple-flavored pork sausage
- 1/2 cup fresh diced onion
- 6 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease an 8-inch square baking dish.
- Spread the thawed hash browns evenly in the prepared dish.
- In a skillet, cook the sausage and diced onion until browned. Drain excess grease.
- In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until frothy.
- Pour the egg mixture over the hash browns. Add half of the shredded cheese, the sausage mixture, and top with the remaining cheese.
- Cover with foil and bake for 1 hour. Remove the foil for the last 10 minutes to allow the cheese to brown.
- Let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing. For make-ahead, refrigerate overnight and add an extra 10 minutes to the bake time.
Notes
Add a dollop of sour cream or fresh chives for serving. Perfect for brunch or special occasions!
