Description

A decadent blend of chocolate and bread, this Brownie Bread is a warm, gooey loaf perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup hot fudge sauce
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt until combined. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and sugar. Stir in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Add the vanilla extract and mix until smooth.
  4. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring just until combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  5. Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips and hot fudge sauce. If using walnuts, add them now.
  6. Transfer the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread it evenly.
  7. Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  8. Allow the brownie bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Once cooled, slice into thick pieces and serve warm, optionally drizzled with hot fudge or with a scoop of ice cream.
