Description
These festive cookies feature a melt-in-your-mouth, buttery dough topped with peppermint-infused chocolate from Hershey’s Kisses, perfect for holiday gatherings.
Ingredients

- 2 cups + 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 10 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg, at room temperature
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract
- 1/2 cup nonpareil sprinkles
- 32–36 candy cane-flavor Hershey’s Kisses, unwrapped
Instructions
- Whisk the flour, baking powder, and salt together in a medium bowl; set aside.
- In a large bowl, using a hand-held or stand mixer, beat the butter and sugar together on high speed until creamy (about 2 minutes). Add the egg, vanilla extract, and peppermint extract and beat until combined (about 1 minute). Scrape down the sides and bottom of the bowl and beat again as needed.
- Add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients and mix on low speed until fully combined (the dough will be very thick).
- Roll dough into balls (each about 20g) and roll generously in the sprinkles. If the sprinkles don’t stick, add 1 teaspoon of water to the dough to help them adhere.
- Place the dough balls on a baking sheet and chill in the refrigerator for 20 minutes to 1 day.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C).
- Place chilled dough balls on lined baking sheets, 2 inches apart. Bake for 12 minutes or until the edges are set.
- Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 5 minutes before pressing a Hershey’s Kiss into the center of each cookie.
- Transfer cookies using a thin spatula and place in the freezer for 10 minutes to set the candy.

Notes
These cookies can stay fresh in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week and can be frozen for up to 3 months.
