Description

A delightful and colorful bread that captures the festive spirit of the holidays with its buttery sweetness and vibrant sprinkles.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup whole milk
  • 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2/3 cup Christmas sprinkles
  • 1 1/4 cups powdered sugar (for icing)
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream (for icing)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (for icing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×5 inch loaf pan, greased and ready to hold all that deliciousness.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add in the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined. Then mix in the sour cream and whole milk.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the Christmas sprinkles gently, ensuring even distribution.
  7. Spread the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 60-70 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow the loaf to cool for 5 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Meanwhile, whisk together the powdered sugar, heavy cream, and vanilla extract for the icing.
  10. Once cooled, generously spread the icing on top and add extra sprinkles if desired.
  11. Serve at room temperature or slightly warm.
