Delightful biscuits that are warm and gooey, filled with cinnamon and raisins, perfect for any gathering.
Ingredients

- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 2 cups buttermilk, room temperature
- 1/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup raisins, divided
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup confectioners’ sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 450°F.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, granulated sugar, and salt.
- In a separate small bowl, combine buttermilk, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
- Fold in 3/4 cup of raisins, reserving 1/4 cup for topping.
- Pour melted butter into an 8×8 inch baking dish and spread the biscuit dough over it.
- Sprinkle the reserved raisins on top.
- Score the dough into 9 squares.
- Bake for 28–30 minutes, or until golden brown.
- While baking, prepare the glaze by whisking together confectioners’ sugar and milk.
- Drizzle the glaze over the warm biscuits once out of the oven.
- Let sit for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
Best enjoyed fresh, but can be stored in an airtight container for up to two days.
