Description

Delicious bite-sized treats featuring creamy crab and cream cheese, wrapped in crispy wontons—perfect for any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 6 oz crab meat, drained and flaked
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 package of wonton wrappers (around 48 wrappers)
  • 2 cups vegetable oil (for frying)
  • Sweet and sour sauce (for dipping)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, crab meat, chopped green onions, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until everything is evenly combined.
  2. Lay out the wonton wrappers on a clean surface and cover with a damp cloth to keep pliable.
  3. Place about 1 teaspoon of the crab mixture in the center of each wonton wrapper.
  4. Moisten the edges of the wonton wrappers with water to ensure a good seal.
  5. Fold the wrapper over the filling to create a triangle shape, pressing the edges to seal tightly.
  6. In a deep pot or frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
  7. Carefully add the filled wontons to the hot oil and fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Use a slotted spoon to transfer the fried wontons to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
  9. Repeat the process until all wontons are cooked.
  10. Serve warm with sweet and sour sauce for dipping.

Notes

Ensure a tight seal on the wontons to prevent filling leaks during frying. Experiment with different dipping sauces for variety.
