Description
Delicious bite-sized treats featuring creamy crab and cream cheese, wrapped in crispy wontons—perfect for any gathering.
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 6 oz crab meat, drained and flaked
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 package of wonton wrappers (around 48 wrappers)
- 2 cups vegetable oil (for frying)
- Sweet and sour sauce (for dipping)
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, crab meat, chopped green onions, minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until everything is evenly combined.
- Lay out the wonton wrappers on a clean surface and cover with a damp cloth to keep pliable.
- Place about 1 teaspoon of the crab mixture in the center of each wonton wrapper.
- Moisten the edges of the wonton wrappers with water to ensure a good seal.
- Fold the wrapper over the filling to create a triangle shape, pressing the edges to seal tightly.
- In a deep pot or frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- Carefully add the filled wontons to the hot oil and fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
- Use a slotted spoon to transfer the fried wontons to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
- Repeat the process until all wontons are cooked.
- Serve warm with sweet and sour sauce for dipping.
Notes
Ensure a tight seal on the wontons to prevent filling leaks during frying. Experiment with different dipping sauces for variety.
