Description

Warm, fluffy dinner rolls that transform any meal into a heartfelt gathering, perfect for family dinners and special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons Active Dry Yeast
  • 1/2 cup Whole Milk (at 110°F)
  • 2 tablespoons Granulated Sugar
  • 5 tablespoons Unsalted Butter (melted and cooled)
  • 1 teaspoon Sea Salt
  • 3 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 2 tablespoons Topping Butter (melted)
  • 1/2 teaspoon flaky sea salt (for finishing)

Instructions

  1. Activate Yeast: Combine warmed milk, 1 tablespoon of sugar, and yeast in a small bowl. Let it sit for 5-8 minutes until foamy.
  2. Form Initial Dough: In a mixing bowl, add remaining sugar, melted butter, and sea salt. Mix for 30 seconds. Gradually add flour one cup at a time, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  3. First Rise: Transfer the dough to an oiled bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Let it rise for 60-90 minutes until doubled.
  4. Shape Rolls: Divide dough into 15 portions, roll into balls, and place in a greased pan. Cover loosely.
  5. Second Rise: Let rolls rise until they touch each other and have doubled in size.
  6. Bake And Finish: Preheat oven to 350°F. Bake for 22-25 minutes, rotating halfway. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with flaky sea salt.

Notes

Store cooled rolls in an airtight container for up to 3 days at room temperature, or refrigerate for up to 1 week. Freeze for up to 3 months.
