- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup peanut butter
Instructions
- Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
- In another bowl, mix the milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Stir until blended.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- If needed, lightly grease the waffle iron with non-stick spray or oil.
- Pour an appropriate amount of batter into the preheated iron, swirling in peanut butter.
- Close the lid and cook until done, about 3 to 5 minutes, until crispy and set.
- Serve warm with additional peanut butter or chocolate chips as desired.
Notes
Don’t over-mix the batter to keep the waffles fluffy. These can be made ahead by prepping the dry mix the night before.
