Description

Delightful cinnamon rolls decorated for Halloween, perfect for a festive breakfast.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes until bubbly.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, remaining sugar, and salt. Add melted butter and eggs to the yeast mixture and mix well.
  3. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients until a dough forms. Knead for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
  5. In a small bowl, mix together the softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon for the filling.
  6. After the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a rectangle about 1/4 inch thick.
  7. Spread the cinnamon filling evenly over the rolled-out dough.
  8. Roll the dough into a tight log and slice it into 12 equal pieces, placing them in a greased baking dish.
  9. Cover the rolls again and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
  10. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
  11. While baking, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract for icing.

Notes

Consider adding Halloween-themed decorations like chocolate chips or sprinkles for a fun twist.
