Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds Yukon Gold potatoes
  • 4 to 6 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Peel and chop the potatoes into uniform chunks.
  2. Boil the potatoes in a large pot with cold salted water until fork-tender, about 15 to 20 minutes.
  3. Sauté the minced garlic in melted butter until golden brown.
  4. Drain the cooked potatoes and return them to the pot. Add the sautéed garlic and remaining butter.
  5. Pour in the heavy cream and sour cream. Mash until smooth and creamy.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding garlic powder or roasted garlic. You can also top with chives, cheese, or bacon bits for added texture.
