Description

A satisfying blend of savory ground turkey and sweet teriyaki sauce served atop fluffy jasmine rice with fresh vegetables.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 cups cooked jasmine rice
  • 1 cup broccoli florets
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Sesame seeds for garnish
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the ground turkey, breaking it apart with a spoon, and cook until golden brown. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Remove the turkey and set it aside. In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and fresh ginger, sautéing for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Stir in soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, and sesame oil. Allow to simmer gently.
  5. Whisk in the cornstarch mixture and let it bubble for about 2 minutes until thickened.
  6. Toss in the broccoli, bell pepper, and carrot, cooking for about 4 minutes until tender-crisp.
  7. Fold the cooked turkey back into the skillet, ensuring it is coated in the sauce.
  8. Divide jasmine rice into serving bowls and top with the turkey and vegetable mixture.
  9. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds, then serve immediately.

Notes

Ensure not to overcook the turkey to keep it juicy. Customize with seasonal vegetables as desired.
