Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ½ pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Wooden skewers soaked in water for at least 30 minutes
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, whisk together soy sauce, honey, vegetable oil, apple cider vinegar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and red pepper flakes (if using). Add a pinch of salt and pepper until everything is well combined.
- Place the chicken cubes into the marinade, ensuring each piece is generously coated. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or up to 4 hours.
- Preheat your grill or grill pan to medium-high heat.
- Thread the marinated chicken pieces onto soaked wooden skewers, dividing evenly.
- Place the skewers on the preheated grill, cooking for about 5-7 minutes on each side, until fully cooked. Check that the internal temperature has reached 165°F (75°C).
- Once done, remove skewers from the grill and allow to rest for a couple of minutes before serving.
Notes
Try using low-sodium soy sauce or a sugar-free syrup to make it healthier. Incorporating vegetables on the skewers can add flavor and nutrition.
