Description

A crispy, golden-brown slice of Hong Kong French Toast filled with creamy, sweet custard that delights with every bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 Salted Duck Egg Yolks
  • 2 tablespoons Milk Powder
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons Butter (softened)
  • 2 tablespoons Powdered Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric
  • 4 Thick Milk Bread Slices
  • 2 tablespoons Condensed Milk
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt

Instructions

  1. Mash salted duck egg yolks in a bowl until smooth, then add milk powder and cornstarch, mixing until well incorporated. Add butter, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and turmeric; mix until smooth.
  2. Slice the thick milk bread slices horizontally, leaving one edge intact for a pocket.
  3. Spread condensed milk on the inner edges of the bread well and fill with the custard mixture before sealing the edges.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, and a dash of vanilla extract.
  5. Heat butter in a pan over medium heat, dip each stuffed slice in the egg mixture for about 20 seconds on each side.
  6. Place soaked toast in the hot pan, cooking until golden brown, about 2 minutes per side. Serve with additional butter and condensed milk.
