Description

Delightful warm, fluffy bites infused with the comforting flavors of maple syrup and buttery goodness, perfect for breakfast, dessert, or snacks.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips (optional)
  • 1/2 cup blueberries (optional)
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Lightly grease a mini muffin pan with butter or cooking spray.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat the egg, then add buttermilk, vanilla extract, and melted butter; mix until smooth.
  5. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and fold gently, being careful not to overmix.
  6. If desired, fold in mini chocolate chips or blueberries.
  7. Fill each mini muffin cup about three-quarters full.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes until puffed and lightly browned.
  9. While baking, whisk together powdered sugar, maple syrup, and milk for the glaze.
  10. Cool poppers in the pan for 3-5 minutes before removing.
  11. Drizzle with maple glaze and serve warm.

Notes

For healthier alternatives, consider using whole wheat flour, unsweetened applesauce, and low-sugar maple syrup.
