Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, combine mixed dried fruit and chopped nuts.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, and stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in the fruit and nut mixture and optional white chocolate chips.
- Scoop dough onto prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until edges are lightly golden.
- Cool on the baking sheets for several minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
For best results, use room temperature butter and consider toasting the nuts for extra flavor. Swapping dried fruits or adding spices can customize the recipe to your taste.
