- 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed)
- 1 lb ground sausage
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese (shredded)
- 1 egg (beaten for egg wash)
- 2 tsp fresh thyme (or 1 tsp Italian seasoning)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground sausage for 5 to 7 minutes until browned. Allow to cool slightly.
- Mix the cooked sausage with the shredded cheddar cheese and thyme until well combined.
- Roll out the puff pastry into a large circle about 1/4 inch thick.
- Spoon the sausage mixture onto one side of the pastry, fold it over to create a half-moon shape, and pinch the edges to seal.
- Twist the half-moon into a wreath shape on the baking sheet and secure it.
- Brush the wreath with the beaten egg.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until the pastry is golden brown and puffed up.
