Delightful rolls filled with mozzarella and pepperoni, perfect for gatherings and sharing with loved ones.
Ingredients
Scale
- 500 g pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
- 150 g sliced pepperoni
- 200 g shredded mozzarella cheese
- 50 g grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- Flour (for dusting)
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Lightly flour a clean surface and roll out the pizza dough into a large rectangle, approximately 12×18 inches.
- Brush the dough with olive oil and sprinkle with Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Evenly spread sliced pepperoni across the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese over the pepperoni layer.
- Starting from one long side, tightly roll the dough into a log and pinch the seam to seal.
- Slice the roll into 1-inch pieces and place each piece cut-side up on the prepared baking sheet.
- Beat an egg with a splash of water to create an egg wash, then brush the tops of the rolls with the mixture.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and the cheese is bubbly.
- Remove the rolls from the oven and allow them to cool slightly before serving with marinara sauce.
Notes
For a healthier option, consider using whole wheat dough or substitute pepperoni with vegetables or lean turkey pepperoni.
