- 2 lbs chicken thighs or breasts
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons ground cumin
- 2 tablespoons ground coriander
- 1 tablespoon paprika
- 1 tablespoon turmeric
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Juice of 1 lemon
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix together the yogurt, garlic, cumin, coriander, paprika, turmeric, cinnamon, salt, pepper, olive oil, and lemon juice to create the marinade.
- Add the chicken to the marinade and cover the bowl. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight for optimal flavor.
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) or prepare your grill.
- Remove the chicken from the marinade and place it on a baking sheet or grill. Bake for 25-30 minutes or grill for 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally until cooked through.
- Allow the chicken to rest for a few minutes before slicing and serve with pita bread and fresh salads.
