Description

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Olive oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, shredded cheese, cilantro, green onions, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly.
  2. Mix in the breadcrumbs and beaten egg until well combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into small balls, about the size of a golf ball.
  4. Heat olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  5. Fry the balls until golden brown and cooked through, approximately 8-10 minutes.
  6. Remove from the pan and drain on paper towels.
  7. Serve warm with salsa or guacamole.

Notes

For a gluten-free option, substitute breadcrumbs with crushed cornflakes or gluten-free breadcrumbs. Can use ground turkey for a lighter meal.
