Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup shredded cheese
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg, beaten
- Olive oil for frying
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, shredded cheese, cilantro, green onions, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly.
- Mix in the breadcrumbs and beaten egg until well combined.
- Shape the mixture into small balls, about the size of a golf ball.
- Heat olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- Fry the balls until golden brown and cooked through, approximately 8-10 minutes.
- Remove from the pan and drain on paper towels.
- Serve warm with salsa or guacamole.
Notes
For a gluten-free option, substitute breadcrumbs with crushed cornflakes or gluten-free breadcrumbs. Can use ground turkey for a lighter meal.
