Description

A warm, crusty loaf filled with a creamy mixture of spinach and artichokes; a comfort dish perfect for gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 large French bread loaf
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 package (10 oz) frozen chopped spinach, thawed and well-drained
  • 1 can (14 oz) artichoke hearts, drained and chopped
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: crushed red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Slice the French bread loaf in half lengthwise and scoop out some of the soft bread from the center.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté the minced garlic for about 30 seconds.
  3. Stir in the chopped spinach and sauté for 2-3 minutes until warmed.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise; mix until smooth.
  5. Fold in the sautéed spinach, artichoke hearts, mozzarella, Parmesan, salt, and pepper. Optionally, add crushed red pepper flakes.
  6. Spoon the mixture into the bread halves.
  7. Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool slightly before slicing and serving warm.

Notes

Use parchment paper under your baking sheet for easier cleanup. Ensure spinach and artichokes are thoroughly drained.
