Description

A delectable dessert that beautifully marries fresh strawberries with creamy custard and fluffy cake.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1 cup custard

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a cake pan.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the milk and vanilla extract until blended.
  5. Mix the flour and baking powder in a separate bowl, then gradually add it to the wet ingredients.
  6. Fold in the sliced strawberries gently.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack. Top with custard before serving.

Notes

For added flavor, consider using lemon zest or chocolate chips. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
