Description

A warm, aromatic loaf of banana bread that’s tender, inviting, and loaded with the sweetness of ripe bananas.


Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
  2. Combine the melted butter with the mashed bananas until smooth.
  3. Stir in the brown sugar and granulated sugar until fully incorporated.
  4. Add in the beaten egg and vanilla extract, mixing until just combined.
  5. Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture and fold in the flour until no dry flour remains.
  6. If desired, fold in the chopped nuts and chocolate chips.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  8. Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For a healthier version, consider reducing sugar, using dairy-free options, or replacing all-purpose flour with whole wheat.
