- 3 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- Pinch of salt
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5 inch loaf pan.
- Combine the melted butter with the mashed bananas until smooth.
- Stir in the brown sugar and granulated sugar until fully incorporated.
- Add in the beaten egg and vanilla extract, mixing until just combined.
- Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture and fold in the flour until no dry flour remains.
- If desired, fold in the chopped nuts and chocolate chips.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
- Bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let it cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For a healthier version, consider reducing sugar, using dairy-free options, or replacing all-purpose flour with whole wheat.
