Description

A moist and rich banana bread infused with three types of chocolate and topped with toasty coconut, perfect for breakfast or dessert.


Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 room temperature eggs
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup oil
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup sweetened coconut
  • Quality caramel sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk the oil and brown sugar together until well combined.
  4. Stir in the eggs and sour cream until smooth.
  5. Gently fold in the mashed bananas and chocolate chips until just mixed.
  6. Transfer the batter into a greased loaf pan.
  7. Bake for 60 minutes, then tent with foil and bake for an additional 20 minutes.
  8. Insert a toothpick into the center; if it comes out clean, it’s ready.
  9. Let the bread cool completely in the pan.
  10. Toast the coconut in a skillet over medium-low heat until golden brown.
  11. Drizzle with caramel sauce before serving.
