Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a greased loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, sift together cocoa powder, flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk eggs and then stir in sour cream and mashed bananas, followed by sugar and vanilla extract.
  4. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture and gently incorporate the chocolate chips.
  5. Pour the batter into the greased loaf pan and sprinkle reserved chocolate chips on top.
  6. Bake for 55-65 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean with a few chocolate morsels.
  7. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  8. Store leftovers in an airtight container or freeze for up to six months.
