- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
- 3/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup pure maple syrup
- 1 large egg yolk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 6 ounces white chocolate chips or melting wafers
- Flaky sea salt, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Cream the butter and brown sugar until fluffy and light in color.
- Add maple syrup, egg yolk, and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until combined.
- Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Scoop the dough into 1.5 tablespoon balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 9–11 minutes until edges are golden brown and centers are soft.
- Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- Melt the white chocolate in increments and dip each cooled cookie into it, allowing excess to drip off.
- Garnish with flaky sea salt if desired and let set completely before serving.
Notes
Consider adding nuts or dried fruits to the dough for added flavor. Use dark or milk chocolate for a different taste.
