Description

Ingredients

  • 1½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp kosher salt
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup whole milk
  • ¼ cup melted dark chocolate (for drizzle)
  • ½ cup crushed Biscoff cookies (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (177°C).
  2. Grease and line a 9×5″ loaf pan with parchment paper.
  3. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Cream the butter and granulated sugar together until fluffy, about 3 minutes.
  5. Beat in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
  6. Alternate adding the flour mixture and milk in thirds, starting and ending with dry ingredients.
  7. Divide the batter and stir reserved cocoa into one half for the chocolate layer.
  8. Dollop vanilla and chocolate batter alternately in the prepared pan.
  9. Swirl the batters together gently using a skewer.
  10. Bake for 30–35 minutes until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
  11. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
  12. Drizzle melted dark chocolate over the cooled cake.
