Description

A delightful twist on traditional cookies, combining rich cheesecake flavors with warm caramel and a touch of flaky sea salt.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup butter, softened (for frosting)
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract (for frosting)
  • ½ cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • Flaky sea salt for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
  4. Add the large eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until fully combined.
  5. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.
  6. Scoop large dough balls (about 3 tablespoons each) onto the baking sheets and flatten slightly.
  7. Bake for 12-14 minutes until edges are set and centers look soft.
  8. Transfer cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.
  9. Make the cream cheese frosting by beating together the softened cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  10. Frost each cookie generously with the cream cheese frosting, drizzle with caramel sauce, and sprinkle with flaky sea salt.

Notes

Consider adding a splash of caramel-flavored coffee creamer to the frosting or folding in crushed nuts for added texture.
