Description

Ingredients

  • 1 and 3/4 cups confectioners’ sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 Tablespoon strawberry jam or preserves
  • 3 Tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 and 1/2 cups confectioners’ sugar
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 3 Tablespoons milk
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 3 Tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 Tablespoon light corn syrup
  • 1 Tablespoon water
  • Optional toppings: Sprinkles, Cereals, Crushed Oreos, Chopped nuts, Shredded coconut, Freeze-dried berries, Mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. For Strawberry Donut Frosting: Puree the strawberries until smooth. In a bowl, whisk together puree, sugar, vanilla extract, and jam until creamy. Dip donuts into frosting.
  2. For Vanilla Donut Frosting: Whisk together sugar, vanilla, milk, and salt until smooth. Adjust consistency with more milk if desired.
  3. For Chocolate Donut Frosting: Melt chocolate chips, butter, corn syrup, and water in a microwave until smooth. Dip donuts into chocolate frosting.
  4. For frosting donuts, dip warm donuts into the respective frostings and place on a wire rack. Add toppings as desired.

Notes

For a healthier option, try low-sugar and dairy-free substitutions. Fresh fruit purees can add natural sweetness.
