- 1 and 3/4 cups confectioners’ sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 Tablespoon strawberry jam or preserves
- 3 Tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 and 1/2 cups confectioners’ sugar
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 3 Tablespoons milk
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 3 Tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 Tablespoon light corn syrup
- 1 Tablespoon water
- Optional toppings: Sprinkles, Cereals, Crushed Oreos, Chopped nuts, Shredded coconut, Freeze-dried berries, Mini chocolate chips
Instructions
- For Strawberry Donut Frosting: Puree the strawberries until smooth. In a bowl, whisk together puree, sugar, vanilla extract, and jam until creamy. Dip donuts into frosting.
- For Vanilla Donut Frosting: Whisk together sugar, vanilla, milk, and salt until smooth. Adjust consistency with more milk if desired.
- For Chocolate Donut Frosting: Melt chocolate chips, butter, corn syrup, and water in a microwave until smooth. Dip donuts into chocolate frosting.
- For frosting donuts, dip warm donuts into the respective frostings and place on a wire rack. Add toppings as desired.
Notes
For a healthier option, try low-sugar and dairy-free substitutions. Fresh fruit purees can add natural sweetness.
