Description

Indulge in this warm, cheesy garlic bread that is easy to prepare and perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 loaf of French or Italian bread, halved lengthwise
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a small bowl, combine the softened butter, minced garlic, dried oregano, black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Mix well to create a garlic butter.
  3. Place the halved bread cut side up on a baking sheet.
  4. Spread the garlic butter mixture evenly over each half of the bread.
  5. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese generously on top of each half.
  6. Follow with grated Parmesan cheese.
  7. If desired, add chopped parsley on top.
  8. Bake the bread in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the edges are golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven, slice, and serve warm.

Notes

For a healthier alternative, substitute low-fat cheese and whole wheat bread. Store leftovers in the freezer and reheat as needed.
