Description

A fast, kid-friendly dish that envelops eggs in a glossy, sweet-savory sauce, perfect for breakfast or dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon chili flakes
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup green onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Crack the eggs into the skillet, being careful not to break the yolks.
  3. Cook the eggs for 2-3 minutes until the whites are set.
  4. Remove the eggs from the skillet and set them aside.
  5. In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes.
  6. Stir in soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, ketchup, and chili flakes, allowing the glaze to bubble.
  7. Place the eggs back into the skillet, spooning the sauce over them for an additional minute.
  8. Garnish with chopped green onions, sesame seeds, and fresh cilantro.
  9. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Notes

For a healthier spin, consider swapping honey for agave syrup and using olive oil instead of vegetable oil.
