Ingredients

- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup milk
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 2 cups mashed potatoes
- 1 cup shredded cheese
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
- Form the meat mixture into a loaf shape and place it in a greased baking dish.
- Spread ketchup over the top of the meatloaf.
- Bake for about 1 hour until internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
- Boil potatoes until tender, mash them with butter, milk, and season to taste.
- Allow meatloaf to cool before slicing and serve it with mashed potatoes.
- Top mashed potatoes with shredded cheese and let it melt slightly before serving.
Notes
Use fresh breadcrumbs for better taste. Allow meatloaf to rest before slicing for cleaner cuts.
