Description

A classic comfort dish combining savory meatloaf with creamy, cheesy mashed potatoes, perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 cups mashed potatoes
  • 1 cup shredded cheese
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
  3. Form the meat mixture into a loaf shape and place it in a greased baking dish.
  4. Spread ketchup over the top of the meatloaf.
  5. Bake for about 1 hour until internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  6. Boil potatoes until tender, mash them with butter, milk, and season to taste.
  7. Allow meatloaf to cool before slicing and serve it with mashed potatoes.
  8. Top mashed potatoes with shredded cheese and let it melt slightly before serving.

Notes

Use fresh breadcrumbs for better taste. Allow meatloaf to rest before slicing for cleaner cuts.
