Description

Mini Mushroom and Gruyère Pot Pies are a delightful comfort food featuring a flaky, golden crust filled with sautéed mushrooms and rich Gruyère cheese.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup chopped mushrooms
  • 1 cup Gruyère cheese, shredded
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat.
  3. Add chopped mushrooms and sauté until browned, about 5 minutes.
  4. Stir in fresh thyme, salt, and pepper. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  5. Roll out the puff pastry and cut into circles to fit into your muffin tin.
  6. Place a pastry circle into each muffin tin cup, then spoon in the mushroom mixture and top with shredded Gruyère cheese.
  7. Cover with another pastry circle and seal the edges.
  8. Brush the tops with beaten egg.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Allow to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For best results, let the mushrooms caramelize properly and consider adding a splash of cream for richness.
