Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp cocoa powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 large egg
- 1 tbsp red food coloring
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Nutella for filling
- 1 cup chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter, sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the egg, food coloring, and vanilla extract.
- Gradually blend in the dry ingredients until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Scoop a tablespoon of dough, flatten it, add a teaspoon of Nutella, and wrap the dough around the filling.
- Place cookies on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, until edges are set.
- Let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
For an added twist, sprinkle a little sea salt on top before baking.
