Description

Spicy Grilled Tandoori Chicken is a flavorful dish marinated in yogurt and spices, perfect for grilling.


Ingredients

  • 4 chicken thighs (bone-in and skinless)
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 tablespoons tandoori masala spice mix
  • 1 inch ginger root, finely grated
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • Salt, to taste
  • Fresh cilantro leaves, for garnish
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the yogurt, lemon juice, vegetable oil, tandoori masala, ginger, garlic, cayenne pepper, turmeric, cumin, coriander, garam masala, and salt to make the marinade.
  2. Make shallow cuts on the chicken thighs.
  3. Rub the marinade all over the chicken, ensuring it’s well coated. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  4. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grates.
  5. Place the marinated chicken thighs on the grill and cook for about 6–8 minutes on each side until fully cooked.
  6. Remove from the grill and let rest for a few minutes before serving.
  7. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve with lemon wedges.

Notes

Marinate overnight for the best flavor. Adjust cayenne pepper for desired spice level.
